The AltVetMed listing of holistic veterinary medicine practitioners - If you are interested in finding a veterinary practitioner who can prescribe alternative treatments for you dog, this is the place to look to find a person near you. The site includes codes for the types of therapies each practitioner offers, such as acupuncture, massage therapy or nutritional therapy. Practitioners are listed by state. Most are DVMs in addition to their holistic practice. Old Mother Hubbard - A holistic line of dog food made from human grade ingredients. Contains minerals and herbs, plus essential oils. Look for a dealer near you and they can ship it to your home. Solid Gold Dog Food - Another super-premium food for pets. Made in California, where I hear the standards for pet food are higher than anywhere else in the country. Also is made with human grade ingredients with added vitamins and herbs. I have not tried this product, but have heard that animals with allergies improve on it when they haven't responded to other products. Purely Pets - This is a company that specializes in health supplements for pet health conditions. They are very accessible if you would like to discuss your pet's condition to decide on the right products to try.
